Why should you check slurry pumps weight before purchasing?

Weight is one of the most important factors to consider before purchasing slurry pumps. It’s the most simple and common way to price the parts of slurry pumps.

Many manufacturers do cost-cutting by using less material than recommended.

For instance, according to the drawing requirements, the volute liner of a slurry pump weighs 200kg. Now, if you assume that the per kg material cost is 6 USD and if you cut 50kgs of weight, the manufacturer can save up to 300 USD. But this will reduce the service life of the product.

So, next time when you buy pumps make sure to check the weight first. Because low price may sound pocket-friendly but sacrificing quality for the price is not a good option while purchasing slurry pumps.

We manufacture our slurry pumps with raw materials like chromium, manganese, copper, silicon, molybdenum, nickel, iron, etc. In high chrome alloy (KmTBCr26 ) the chrome alloy content should not be less than 20%. Similarly nickel content should be 5%.

The ideal hardness for high chrome alloy material should be 56HRC to 60HRC to get good hardness and wear-resistant capabilities.

The pump motors are not waterproof. They need to be placed on land, outside the water. But the pump can submerge into the water during work. Also, the motors need to be fixed to a solid base to prevent it from falling to the water.

As the major axis length is fixed, installing pumps can be difficult and the flexibility of operation can be restricted.

We suggest you use two pumps alternatively. We also install nets on the inlet so that impurities can't go inside the pump.

Desulphurization pumps are cantilever type single-stage single-suction centrifugal pumps.

It is designed to transport corrosive medium containing fine particles.

Desulphurization pumps are made with UHMW-PE plastic material, which has high corrosion resistant capabilities. These pumps are highly abrasion resistant, impact resistant (especially the low-temperature impact resistance) and corrosion-resistant.

It’s crucial to know the viscosity of the fluid before you buy a pump. If the fluid's viscosity is high then it requires powerful pumping equipment. If the viscosity is lower, the pump power can be minimized.

There are mainly four types of slurry pumps. These seals are used in different applications.

Centrifugal Seal: (Expeller)
A centrifugal seal, or expeller, has no water flush and can seal many slurry pump applications with zero leakage using only grease lubrication. This is a no cost adder option on any pump where applicable.

Gland Seal:
Full flush gland seals are available to flow over the shaft sleeve and through the stuffing box to prevent media from escaping the pump housing. These seals provide excellent sealing properties with minimal cost and maintenance to the seal.

Mechanical Seal:
Customized mechanical seals solutions can be found for many applications where water flushing or grease-lubricated expellers are not options. We only apply mechanical seals specifically designed for abrasive and heavy-duty jobs.

1. The rubber suction seal ring. This side should touch the throatbush. The fillister should match the bulge of the throatbush.

2. The bulge of the throatbush has its processing exactness limitation. Sometimes, it could not match the seal ring very closely, which may lead the leakage. Under this situation, we use another thin rubber piece.

3. Get the round ring from the thin rubber piece. Make the rubber circle ring match the fillister of the suction seal ring well, the frame and the dimensions. Put the circle ring into the fillister of the suction seal ring and put the complete one on the throatbush.
